Update status with rhythmbox info

Hello, I'd like to write something that does the same that gtalk does (i.e update status with the played song) for gajim and rhythmbox. Gajim has a class that do that very well, named gajim-remote, I've seen some examples. But all these examples were plugins for the music player, and I don't think (in my very humble opinion) it's the right way to do it. Rhythmbox has it's own Dbus API, and I think Gajim should connect to it and recieve events from it. So i'm asking you if I'm right or wrong about it? And is Gajim using other Dbus connection from another program (to have some example)? Thanks Joel Dimbernat

Conference Room?

I've not been able to connect to the conference room at gajim(a)conference.gajim.org for a couple of days. Is this just a local problem or have other people been having problems as well? Jeff

Registry for Gajim?

Hi, I have installed Gajim. I am using Mozilla Firefox as the web browser and working in Windows environment. I have added network.protocol-handler.app.xmpp in about:config and settled the string as 'gajim-remote open_chat'. I have added the Registery information as: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\xmpp] @="URL:XMPP Protocol" "EditFlags"=dword:00000002 "URL Protocol"="gajim-remote open_chat" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\xmpp\shell] [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\xmpp\shell\open] [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\xmpp\shell\open\command] @="C:\Documents and Settings\neelu_dhiman\Desktop\IM\gajim-0.10.1\gajim-0.10.1\src\gajim-remote.py %l" Now, I am trying to open the gajim on clicking jabber id as: <a href = "gajim-remote open_chat neelz.cool(a)jabber.com" >Nelz </a> But, I am not able to launch Gajim by clicking on Neelz. I get an error "File not found". Can you please tell me what seems wrong here? Please guide me as I am very new in this and it is very important. Thanks, Neelu. JISP script

Hi All, I'm in full agreement that Gajim should not support JISP (JEP-0038) directly since it is deferred, but it would be nice to convert JISP archives to something gajim could use. Attached is a quick and dirty script (i.e., needs some love) that will convert JISP emoticons to a directory in ${HOME}/.gajim/emoticons. If there is some interest we could make this also create icon sets, as currently it ignore non-emoticon icons. If you are interested in JISP give this script a shot, and I can add it to the Wiki or whatever... Also note, that the script will not work for Windows users, so patches are welcome :) -travis (aka nicfit)

[gajim-devel] - Slackware package contribution

Good morning, I'm a Slackware Linux user, and I've made Gajim packages for that distribution. As there are no oficial Slackware packages available on Gajim homepage, I would like to know I could be an oficial maintainer of the Slackware packages for Gajim, on that form you could publish packages for that distribution on website. p2p python instant messenger integrated in GAJIM (pyhton)

Hello, there is a new p2p serverless Instant Messenger out: Open, Pyhton, excrypting everything. Would it be possible that GA JIM developers integrate this Messenger Protocol and system / Gui as well in GAJIM ?? Then Cspace users, which need a gateway to AOL MSN JAbber etc, could use GAJIM. And the CSpace Developers could keep the Cspace free from GATEWAYS,w hich woudl only bloat their software now, as we need a secure only environment and a Cspace only client.
