Yann, Why "Audio / video conferences" are still in the list of features? Did they start working in the latest release?

Hi, i gave you feedback on your github about dependencys As Master branch is a dev branch which has no release, there are many areas we didnt have time to see if they work and how they can work with python3/GTK3 as notify is not a hard dependency just dont include it if there is no package available. regards lovetox

Old gajim ebuild (gentoo package) has optional dependency on dev-python/notify-python, which is not available for usage with python 3.x. (I haven't tried doing this forcefully yet). In translation files, I see mentions of python-notify: #: ../src/features_window.py:79 msgid "" "Requires python-notify or instead python-dbus in conjunction with " "notification-daemon." which (python-notify) seems to be this: http://www.galago-project.org/files/releases/source/notify-python/ This is not updated since 2006 and e.g. debian packages quite match that: version 0.1.1, python 2 only: https://packages.debian.org/sid/python-notify I don't believe this can work anymore for gajim from git master branch, which requires python 3.5 or higher. Alternative of using python-dbus & notification-daemon looks promising, but I'd like to confirm with developers because whole quoted message can be outdated just as python-notify thing itself. Dear Gajim developers, could you please specify which are actual dependencies around notifications? Thanks a lot in advance.

gentoo ebuild for gajim from git

Hi! I have updated my unofficial ebuild (gentoo package) for gajim which pulls sources from git. To enable my overlay, run yes | layman -o https://raw.githubusercontent.com/decent-im/gentoo-overlay/master/layman.xml -f -a decent-im and then, to install it, run emerge =net-im/gajim-9999 You can review actual ebuild code here: https://github.com/decent-im/gentoo-overlay/blob/master/net-im/gajim/gajim-… It may be not perfect of course, I am going to proceed polishing it for some time before submitting it to official portage tree. Any feedback from Gajim users and developers is very appreciated.
