Gmail emoticons
by Chris Cook 24 Jun '06

Hello everyone. I have come to like the Gmail emoticons because they are simple and not obnoxious so I created a gmail emoticon package for my Gajim install. I thought others might like to use it so I've made it available online. http://www.intraplanar.net/temp/google_emoticons.tar.gz That archive just needs to be extracted into the Gajim "data" directory. If there is a better place to put it let me know. The wiki doesn't seem to allow new accounts or any kind of content submission other than tickets. If you want to see an example of the graphics you can see them here. http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=34056 Cheers, Chris

Language selection support xml:lang
by Juraj Michalek 14 Jun '06

Hello I've finished Slovak translation of Ejabberd. I set up Ejabberd server to use sk as default language. Than I connect to server via Gajim, but Gajim still use english. You can find it e.g. in chatroom configuration, where messages are taken from server side. I want to ask how it is possible to setup Gajim to use xml:lang in communication with server and set this variable to value 'sk'. Ejabberd supports xml:lang feature ( http://www.process-one.net/en/projects/ejabberd/docs/guide_en.html#htoc16) I also found in file session.py in Gajim that there is support for xml:lang, but I did not found where this value came from. Thanks for any advice. Have a nice day. Juraj Michalek -- Asinus IT Group - http://www.asinus.org Personal page: http://juraj.michalek.asinus.org Asinus is member of Blucina.net team

Opening a chat window from the notification message
by Yavor Doganov 08 Jun '06

The new version of Gossip (0.11.1) has a feature which I consider quite useful: when a contact becomes online, a notification message appears with a small button "Chat" and something like a clock which represents the timeout for disappearing the message. It is very convenient when you wait for someone to become online in order to tell him/her something urgent (well, not so urgent that deserves a phone call or something). It also saves you the hassle of opening the roster or right-clicking the trayicon to choose the contact in question. I don't know whether you'd be willing to implement it, or if at all possible. AFAIK Gossip uses libnotify for this. Please take a look at it. -- "Every non-free program has a lord, a master -- and if you use the program, he is your master." --RMS
