by Tomas Herfert 27 Mar '11

27 Mar '11

Dear gajim developers, I have created patch of multimedia_helpers.py file which adds pulseaudio support for voice calls. Could you please add it to your sources? It's just two new lines of code. So I hope it won't be a problem. Please find the patch attached. Thanks! Tomas Herfert

Hello, I'm not sure that it's a good place to report a bug, but I would like to report a bug in gajim 0.14.0.1-4f389d32bb52. Today, after an update on my debian wheezy I can't open message windows and I have the following error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/gajim/src/roster_window.py", line 3940, in on_roster_treeview_row_activated self.on_row_activated(widget, path) File "/usr/share/gajim/src/roster_window.py", line 3933, in on_row_activated resource=resource, session=session) File "/usr/share/gajim/src/gui_interface.py", line 2082, in on_open_chat_window session=session) File "/usr/share/gajim/src/gui_interface.py", line 2021, in new_chat resource) File "/usr/share/gajim/src/message_window.py", line 1041, in create_window win = self._new_window(win_acct, win_type) File "/usr/share/gajim/src/message_window.py", line 924, in _new_window win = MessageWindow(acct, type_, parent_win, parent_paned) File "/usr/share/gajim/src/message_window.py", line 79, in __init__ self.window.set_role(self.type_) TypeError: Gtk.Window.set_role() argument 1 must be string, not None Thanks --- Serghei MIHAI Email : serghei.mihai(a)devlibre.net Jabber : sergiu.mihai(a)devlibre.net Website: http://devlibre.net GPG key: 4096R/BF2FA1AF

Rough idea of GSOC proposal for XEP-0198
by jef reyes 09 Mar '11

Hi, my name is Jefry Lagrange and I'm applying for GSOC this summer. I have a rough idea of what the proposal should look like, so I would like to have some input, in case I'm getting some things mixed up. First, I modify the protocol class in xmmp/protocol.py to better handle acks (if needed). Second, I create a new class stream_management (or whatever other name), in the protocol.py file, that will inherit the protocol class, and will create acks and keep track of the stanzas that have not been handled (probably this should be in a separate class). Third, I implement the stream_management class by analyzing the flow of the networking stuff. I'm not sure if that sounds right... Basically I just need to check how stanzas are sent and receive and there, handle the acks with the stream_management class. I hope that doesn't sound too confusing. -- Jefry Lagrange
