Hi, Some time ago I.ve reported success with gajim audio calls. It worked really well for me. Now it doesn't work since the jingle branch was merged and the stunserver options were added.
Now I am allways getting failed transport.
My pc is connected to a nat network and I have set stunserver.org as stun server in gajim's settings. Any idea what causes this problem? Regards Halim

I would suspect stunserver.org to be somehow not reliable, but this needs some investigation. Anyway, can you try with stun.ekiga.net?
PS: Sorry for the duplicate mail

Cool I don't get the transport errors any more. Now gajim shows that the connection is established but I can't hear anything and the other can't hear me :-(.
I have checked gstreamer-properties and my mic works there. If have also tried several settings in gajim directly.
Any Ideas? BR. Halim
Hi, It seems that something is wrong with the audio recording in current gajim from hg. We have done the following: I used gajim the other used empathy. Gajim can receive and play something from empathy but empathy couldn't play anything. It seems that gajim doesn't send audio correctly.
To test my mic I have installed pidgin and we could do a working audiocall with it. (pidgin -> empathy).
Maybe this helps you to solve the problem!!! Thanks halim

Thanks for your report. Now, I think I know where this is coming from. empathy sends information (other side is ringing, ready, ...) non supported by gajim yet. gajim does let empathy know about it by sending an error (this is the correct way), and sets session state to error (that's not really correct, since the error is not fatal), which cause the GUI not to show up, and the mic volume is set to 0.
Hi, I don't think this is due to an empathy bug because we tried first communicating with two gajim's. The connection comes up but both sides are can not hear anything.
I've done a new test by downgrading to jingle branch. hg update jingle
This works well and is able to communicate with an other gajim / empathy :-).
It would be nice if we can find the pproblem :-(. Thanks Halim

The problem is we are both blind and have used orca (screenreader). Gajim sets the mic level allways to 0 and doesn't save the previous level. gajim->gajim the same. It's not only related to empathy.
The problems were two things: 1. mic 2. stunserver.org doesn't work (tested again.).

Oh, ok.

Never said that it was an empathy bug. Rather that empathy uses a feature we don't, and we don't handle this kind of error properly. This is a bug in gajim.
For the volume, we shouldn't default to 0, and we should save it, that's a sure thing.
Hi, It would be nice to know why stunserver.org doesn't work in gajim. Maybe it's useful to change the text in the settings wich suggests using it as well. Thanks for you help . Regards Halim
