 I understand your suggestions 1 and 4. However, I don't have much time for
 p-/gotr at the moment, so don't expect this to get fixed unless you supply
 reasonable patches yourself.

 I do not understand 2 and 3 though.

 For 2: you can't allocate or assign an OTR fingerprint, please elaborate.

 For 3: I've never heard of SASL encryption, so I'm not sure what you are
 referencing. The strings you list in your comment lack context, feel free
 to provide either screenshots or exact source locations. I'm also not sure
 what further information you'd like to see in the shield button tooltip.
