We don't develop Gstreamer and farstream. they switch from 0.10 to 1.0, 
so yes thigns have changed there.

So we didn't decide to switch to the new version of those libraries, we 
just try to use a version that is available in current distributions. 
farstream 0.1 is just no more available in debian stable for example.
