Hi,
I think it would be good if Gajim would maintain a special Ubuntu packet
with a speical gajim.desktop file.
Gajim has serious troubles with Ubuntu's Unity global menu.
You can't click on much entries...
There is a workaround:
Change the line in the .desktop file to
|Exec=env UBUNTU_MENUPROXY= gajim
|I don't know if every ubuntu user has the skills to manage this.
Furthermore the appindicator plugin is very important so you can close
gajim and reopen it and get notifications (in unity gtk statusicons are
not longer supported...)
Maybe in the special packet we could integrate this plugin as standard
activated and installed.
I made a new Fork and updatet the icons...

Furthermore I wrote a wiki in how to install gajim on ubuntu with unity:

Any good ideas?
